Ashfield Building Group recently completed a residential refurbishment and extension in Knaresborough – and we captured the whole project on film! Based on a design by Richard Eves Architects, the remodelling of this substantial detached home required the creation of a double-storey extension to the rear elevation, as well as the formation of a new entrance in the area of the existing utility room. Located on banks of the picturesque river Nidd, the property was treated to a comprehensive upgrade, both internally and externally.
The development was subject to a physically restrictive environment and involved significant temporary works to maintain support and stability. Ashfield Building Group completed the project on time, but its technical complexity required a long and often painstaking process to meet high standards across every facet. At the start of the project timeline, we decided to set up a time-lapse camera to film the progress of the work through to its finishing touches. This ‘fast-forward’ record shows how the property shapes up, including the extensive landscaping to the front. At this speed, the footage almost makes it look easy, but take it from Ashfield – the work posed a range of technical challenges which few contractors are equipped to handle!
