Ashfield Group recently announced that our Director, Joel Ramsden, will be cycling in September’s Velo North in support of Prostate Cancer UK and he is warming up for the challenge with another testing ride as the captain of a team taking part in next month’s Yorkshire Pedlathon.
Yorkshire’s Carter Jonas LandAid Pedalthon is the foremost corporate cycling event for the region’s business community. Taking place on 7th June, this year’s event starts and finishes at the prestigious Castle Howard Estate, one of the nation’s finest stately homes, with route options of between 30 and 75 miles through glorious Yorkshire countryside. All rider registration fees are donated to LandAid and last year’s Pedalthon raised £17,000. With a mission is to end youth homelessness in the UK by 2026, LandAid brings together businesses and individuals from across the property industry to support projects that deliver life-changing services to young people facing homelessness.
Joining Joel in Ashfield’s 11-strong team will be our recently appointed Non-Executive Directors, Steve Secker and Mark Pettit, alongside riders recruited from some of our valued associates and customers:
Andrew Southey of SDA Architects
Steve Tighe of the Shelby Group
Andrew Holgate of White Rose Architectural
Joel Smith of S+SA Architects
Jonathan Camm of The FEL Group
Andy Binx of Bootyman Printers Ltd
Martyn Baker of Shape Architects
Katie Rodgers of Pro Physio
Joel commented on the team’s excitement ahead of the event:
“The Pedlathon is a fantastic celebration of cycling in Yorkshire and we are delighted to field a team in the year of the UCI World Championships. We are all looking forward to taking on the route and we’ll be using every bit of stamina and adrenaline to get to the finish line!”
