Ashfield Building Group have welcomed a highly experienced appointment to our board with the arrival of Steve Secker as Non-Executive Director providing strategic input for the next stage of the company’s growth.
Steve is an MBA qualified Chartered Accountant with wide-ranging experience of housebuilding development, Project Management, Finance, IT, Risk Management and Corporate Social Responsibility. He worked for McCarthy & Stone, Britain’s leading Retirement Living housebuilder, for 24 years, including 13 years as Regional Managing Director in the North. Steve led McCarthy & Stone’s highly successful ‘Transforming our Customer Experience’ project.
Since 2018, Steve has been building a portfolio of work comprising housing consultancy, executive mentoring and Non-Executive roles with various companies including Tang Hall Smart CIC and a rail construction software start-up. He chairs the York Property Forum, which is part of the Chamber of Commerce, and was recently selected to chair York Housing Association. He is a Non-Executive board member at Johnnie Johnson Housing and chairs their development subsidiary, JJDL. Steve is also a member of the Astraline Committee and the Performance Committee.
