Ashfield Building Group is delighted to announce that we have once again been approved as an accredited supplier under the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS), the market leader for Health and Safety pre-qualification in the UK.
Formed in 1997, CHAS sets industry benchmarks as one of the founders of third-party accreditation. The organisation is regarded as a trusted advisor and an authority in health and safety compliance. In partnership with the Association of London Government, CHAS was a key developer of the core criteria held in the Approved Code of Practice which supported the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007, now recognised as CDM 2015, and is a founder member of SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement).
CHAS is available to organisations looking to procure suitably competent suppliers. Accredited suppliers must show compliance with Health and Safety law (the core criteria described in the CDM regulations) before being approved to work for all CHAS buyers. Ashfield Building Group has been accredited since 2002 and we have just been approved for another 12 months following our latest CHAS Health & Safety Assessment which has confirmed the company’s continued compliance against the CHAS standard.
Ashfield Group Director, Joel Ramsden, said:
“Being CHAS-approved is a key qualification for Ashfield Building Group as it streamlines the tendering process. Each month thousands of contractors and consultants apply for work with public and private sector organisations and must meet their stringent Health and Safety standards to win the business. CHAS simplifies health and safety contractor assessment by standardising requirements. It eliminates the need for lengthy and time-consuming assessments for every prospective project.”
