Ashfield oversee the perfect balance with latest revamp

Ashfield Group are often asked to give properties a contemporary upgrade whilst retaining their original defining character. It can be a delicate balancing act, but we have amassed decades of experience in working with architects to breathe new life into older buildings without detracting from the original features that continue to add value. The latest example is a project on behalf of Mesh Architects involving a wide-ranging overhaul of a spacious detached home in Harrogate.

The elegant property at Kent Road is a substantial building which will benefit from Mesh’s comprehensive revamp including a new extension to the rear elevation, remodelling, landscaping and more. Ashfield are working with Topping Engineers and contract administrator, Arkle Boyce, to oversee the project from start to finish.
We will carry out demolition works and site clearance, before beginning an extensive programme of exterior works which includes replacement of the roof covering, new factory finished windows, monocouche rendering, alteration to walls, new entrance steps, paving work etc. The internal refurbishment will include bespoke joinery, ornate plastering, new heating system including underfloor heating, home automation systems, new bathrooms, utility and kitchen, and much more.

All three storeys will be transformed into fresh contemporary space which is ideal for busy family life. The ground floor opens with a large hallway leading to a utility/boot room, cloakroom, kid’s lounge, cosy snug and a spacious dining kitchen area, which provides access to the family lounge. The first floor includes two double bedrooms, both with en-suite, and a secluded study. The top floor features a family bathroom alongside two single bedrooms and a ‘den’ room for the children.

Ashfield Group Director, Joel Ramsden, said:

“Ashfield Group welcome the opportunity to work with Mesh Architects to deliver their concept. The scheme will advance this property to a new level of luxury and functionality without losing the style which made it so appealing when it was built. The space has enormous potential and the results are sure to be exciting when we complete the work.”
