From the start of the capital works project Ashfield Group have been openly communicative and very supportive. The Directors of the company spent lots of time on site, so they fully understood our Employer Requirements and specification and were very diligent in our monthly progress meetings where they prepared a detail Contracts Report plotting the projects progress and route ahead.
Ashfield Group site managers, staff and chosen subcontractors were diligent, professional, and fun to work with, it made for a great atmosphere on and off site throughout the works. Both the time management of the project and the budget controls were monitored very closely by their senior management and site staff and as a result our project was delivered within our target budget and ahead of the contract programme. Ashfield Group have been very helpful with their QS and have worked hard to provide MAP Charity with value engineered options to be cost efficient and overcome unexpected challenges within the refurbishment.

Clifford Village Hall
Ashfield were appointed to carry out a much needed extension and refurbishment to Clifford Village Hall, to provide new disabled and baby changing facilities, an enlarged and improved kitchen and new toilet areas. Despite stoppages and set backs due to the Covid pandemic, Ashfield have completed the work to a very high standard, and the Trustees are extremely impressed with the finished building.

We were introduced to Ashfield by our architect, as one of three companies selected to tender for the renovation and extension work on our house. Whilst all three companies were professional in their approach and competitive in their quotes, we selected Ashfield because their quotation was well organised, detailed and flexible, as we knew we wanted more work doing than what was put in the original tender documents.
From the start of the process, they explained the timeframes, where they would be working and who would be on site. Safety was clearly key to them, knowing that there was a family still living in the house. Krystian, the Project Leader, kept us very well informed about what was going on, was happy to answer questions from us, plus both he and the team provided good ideas and suggested slight amendments to the original plans, as and when they came across minor issues. Where subcontractors were used, they were well monitored and informed, clearly having worked with Ashfield for some time, and did their work to the same high degree of quality that the Ashfield team did. We also had separate suppliers for various items such as the kitchen, the bi-folding glass doors and the front door, and here again Krystian and his team coordinated well with them, to ensure that everything went as smoothly as it could – for certain items, it was Ashfield who was ready before the supplier was.
We did have numerous discussions about additional work as the project went ahead and here Krystian and his team were very agreeable and provided further competitive quotations. As a result, the project timeframe extended a bit but that was only due to the additional works. During the review of the final works, small identified defects have been very quickly dealt with.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Ashfield to others, as they have provided us with a fantastic new living space, of high quality and with minimal disruption. At all times, we have found their employees to be polite, friendly, helpful and above all, professional. Thank-you very much indeed for all your hard work and efforts.

With a combination of heavy rain and fallen leaves blocking downpipes, autumn can be a nightmare period for gutter issues. One of Ashfield’s clients, Bizspace Ltd, recently encountered guttering problems, causing multiple leaks at their office building in Bradford which we refurbished internally a few years ago. Ashfield were asked to come to their rescue and it prompted a message of appreciation from Tom Harrowell, Cluster Manager at BizSpace:
“As you know there were severe leaks all along the back and front of the building. I was getting well-deserved grief from customers as their offices and equipment were getting damaged. I chanced a call to Krystian to see if he could help, and he couldn’t have done more, to be honest. He grasped the severity of the situation immediately and redirected the lifter arranged for Huddersfield, which was onsite within the hour. The lads were already fully briefed when they arrived and cracked straight on.
Not many contractors would have acted like this and been so helpful, especially in such awful weather conditions. Special mention also for Glenn and Dean, who went the extra mile as always and went up in the lifter in appalling conditions. Their sole aim was to assist me and get our customers back smiling, which is exactly what they achieved. Great work to all at Ashfield, very much appreciated.”

Gresley House – Doncaster
Bizspace completed the purchase of Gresley House in Doncaster, the building being made up of three floors of mixed serviced offices, with 12,800 square feet of serviced office space available to let.
BizSpace were looking to make substantial investment into the refurbishment of the office building to provide a new modern reception area, update the general office facilities and refit the ground floor as smaller workspace units.
The planned refurbishment of the ground floor was to provide 25 new serviced and managed office units for businesses in the area.
When considering our options with regards which contractor we would like to see on board with our plans, Ashfield Group was high on that list.
Having worked on several projects with them previously, we felt that they would not only provide the skill and workmanship expected and understand how we wanted to bring our new brand to the building, but crucially would be on board with our own company values to our customers.
The project was always going to provide challenges to undertake the works whilst having the building already 65% occupied with customers.
Our decision to work with Ashfield proved accurate and whilst the superb quality of the resulting work was never going to be of any concern, knowing the high standards provide on earlier projects from them, it was the day to day management of the team on site and their direct dealings with our customers, that ultimately made the project the success that it has been.
Krystian project led the Ashfield team with a clear brief and understanding of the challenges and ultimately the person who took on board our vision and brought all the trades on board with the intent to make the project a success.
The whole project was a success from start to finish and whilst we continue to work with Ashfield on numerous other types of projects, I would hope that the future brings us together for more similar projects.

We have recently had an extension built by Ashfield Group to make a granny flat. From meeting Brendon (CEO) to the completion of the job, we can’t fault the level of communication and superb quality of work that we have had.
All the lads that worked on our project were very friendly and always made sure that they left the site so tidy at the end of the day. Neighbours commented that they were so impressed with the neatness of the site.
As we were still living in the house while the work was carried out, the lads made sure every stage of the build was carefully planned to cause the minimum disruption to the main house.

New Porch Planned To Perfection
We needed a porch, who do you get, family, friends or a builder? What a dilemma. We went on the internet and looked for builders within 20 miles. We selected three for a quotation. One never replied, and out of the other two we decided on Ashfield.
We selected Ashfield based on their website which was very professional. From the initial meeting with Krystian we felt comfortable about our decision, he was very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble, a very dedicated young man. He sorted out the architect and all the relevant planning and came up with a price that was very competitive. After the plans had been passed, work started on time with a great set of lads, namely Toby, Dave, Gary, Scott and Ben. The site was kept clean at all times and nothing was too much trouble at any time.
The porch looks exactly how we wanted it, any problems that arose were sorted. The porch was finished on time scale and Ashfield turned out to be a great decision to go with!

From start to finish we have nothing but the highest of praise for Ashfield Group. From the initial contact with Krystian, when survey and quote was carried out, to the installation of the new flat roof, everything was as good as we could have wished for.
Ben and his side kick (we can’t recall his name – sorry!) arrived at the property and immediately set to work. We were kept informed as to what would take place at each step of the process and they were always very polite and kept the site as tidy as they could, while waiting arrival of the skip! In addition, they were happy to rectify some problems that were evident in the adjoining tiled roof.
They were later joined by a second team of roofers who again were not afraid to get stuck in and between the 4 of them ensured the job was completed and the site cleared of all debris.
This is the first time we have employed this firm and would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who requires such work. We were so impressed that we will be employing them again when we have further work to be carried out in the near future.
