Over the years Ashfield Group have completed a huge variety of developments, so it’s difficult to come up with a succinct description of the work we do. When it comes to extensions, conversions and refurbishments, ‘transforming space’ is probably as close as we can get to a neat encapsulation of the Ashfield approach – and it’s currently being demonstrated at an exciting residential project in Headingley.
Located at North Grange Road, the detached property has been remodelled by Ashfield in accordance with a design by Ilkley-based Niche Design Architects. The project involves a single-storey side extension with flat roof and the part-demolition and alteration of an existing garage. The scheme provides exceptional new ground floor space which maximises the benefits of natural light with expansive full-height glazing and a 1.5m x 1.5m Vision Flushgate rooflight to the extension. Spanning the original and extended footprint of the building, the glazed element also includes folding/sliding doors providing a smooth transition to the outdoor space in the summer months.
The below photographs were taken at an early stage of the project. They show the existing internal space stripped out and the footprint of the extension space clearly visible to the front.
Fast-forward six months and the completed project has delivered stunning contemporary space including a high-specification kitchen with a comprehensive range of luxury appliances, worktops and units, including an attractive island unit. The kitchen leads through to the extension space, a beautifully sunlit garden room surrounded by a flagstone patio area.
